• The contest is arranged over three categories:

A) Professionals who will be engaged in the composition of the carved vegetables sculpture to be accomplished on the post assigned by the Organization. The work is assigned to a single participant, although he may be aided by a member (the name of the aid, not more than one person, will be forwarded by the participant on the moment of inscription). During the phase of the sculpture composition, the competitors will be observed by commission members appointed by the Organization, who will check out the work during the assigned time. The participants in this category must not be over 40 per day. As a consequence, the order of arrival of inscriptions will be deemed as discriminating factor for the participation and the calendar planning of the event.

B) Professionals who have composed the carved vegetables sculpture at another seat (already made sculpture); the work is assigned to a single participant, although he may have been aided by a team (the names of the team members, not more than two aides, will be forwarded by the participant on the moment of inscription). The participants in this category must not be over 60 per day. As a consequence, the order of arrival of inscriptions will be deemed as discriminating factor for the participation and the calendar planning of the event.

C) Young professionals, under 23, who will be engaged in the composition of the carved vegetables sculpture to be accomplished on the post assigned by the Organization. The opera is assigned to a team, (the names of the team members, not more than three people, will be forwarded by the participants on the moment of inscription). During the phase of the sculpture composition, the competitors will be observed by commission members appointed by the Organization, who will check out the work during the assigned time. The teams participating in this category cannot be more than 10. As a consequence, the order of arrival of inscriptions will be deemed as discriminating factor for the participation and the calendar planning of the event.

• The competitors of the list inscribed in category A, maximum 40 daily working posts, must turn up in a complete uniform, with the vegetables, the personal tools necessary to the exhibition, at hours 7.00 of the spotted day (assigned by the Organization) to receive the assigning of the working post and the exhibition table. From hours 8.00 to 12.00 they must work to their piece, and expose what they have done for the passage of the jury. The works will be exposed until hours 18.00, then each team member will be able to collect his piece after authorization by the Organization. From hours 13.30 on the beginning of visitors voting for the City of Treviso prize will start.
• The competitors of the list inscribed in category B, must turn up in a complete uniform, (hat, white jacket, black trousers and black shoes) with their pieces to be mounted, in the spotted day assigned by the Organization, at hours 6.00. At hours 9.00 they must be ready for the jury passage. The works will be exposed until hours 18.00, then each single competitor will be allowed to collect his piece after authorization by the Organization. From hours 13.30 on the beginning of visitors voting for the City of Treviso prize will start.
• The competitors of the list inscribed in category C, maximum 10 daily working posts, must turn up in a complete uniform, with the vegetables, the personal tools necessary to the exhibition, at hours 7.00 of the spotted day notified by the Organization. They will be assigned the working post and the exhibition table. . From hours 8.00 to 12.00 they must work to their piece, and expose what they have done for the passage of the jury. The works will be exposed until hours 18.00, then each team member will be allowed to collect his piece after authorization by the Organization.

The prizes assigned by the Organization shall be subdivided for each category.

• For category A: to the 1st classified, the work which will have totalized more points, will be assigned the Gold Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 1,500.00 €. To the 2nd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Silver Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 500.00 €. To the 3rd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Bronze Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 250.00 €. Other special prizes will go from the 4th to the 10th absolute classified.

• To category A will be assigned a Special “City of Treviso” Prize, for the artistic side of the work presented. The work singled out by experts of the world of art, and by the citizens’ vote, will be chosen among all.

• For category B: to the 1st classified, the work which will have totalized more points, will Be assigned the Gold Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 1,000.00 €. To the 2nd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Silver Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 300.00 €. To the 3rd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Bronze Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 150.00 €. Other special prizes will go from the 4th to the 15th absolute classified.

• To category A will Be assigned a Special “City of Treviso” Prize, for the artistic side of the work presented. The work singled out by experts of the world of art, and by the citizens’ vote, will be chosen among all.

• For category C: to the 1st classified, the work which will have totalized more points, will be assigned the Gold Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 500.00 €. To the 2nd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Silver Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 200.00 €. To the 3rd classified for totalized points, will be assigned the Bronze Medal, the participation diploma to the reference team, and a prize corresponding to 100.00 €. Other special prizes will go from the 4th to the 5th absolute classified.

• To category A will Be assigned a Special “City of Treviso” Prize, for the artistic side of the work presented. The work singled out by experts of the world of art, and by the citizens’ vote, will be chosen among all.

• IN ALL THE WORKS EXHIBITED, FOR ALL CATEGORIES, NO METAL STRUCTURES MUST BE USED.

• The jury will have the possibility to subtract points, for competitor breaches and non-respect of the rules. The points shall be subtracted from the final total amount.

• The indicators for the evaluation of works are the following:

Sculpture general harmony: from 0 to 10

Concept, idea and styling: from 0 to 10

Development, shape and shade of color: from 0 to 10

Lightness, elegance, care of details: from 0 to 10

Novelty and innovation: from 0 to 10

Carving technical precision: from 0 to 10

Total points 60/60

Penalization for categories A – C:

Evaluation on part of the no. 2 Commission members with report

Work table order and cleanliness: - 1; - 5

Non-respect of the fixed time terms: - 1; - 5.
